Jawfish do not undertake long-distance migrations. They are relatively sedentary and tend to stay close to their burrows.
During reproduction, male Jawfish dig and maintain burrows in the sandy substrate. They attract females into their burrows to deposit eggs, which the male then fertilizes and guards.
