Nurse sharks do not have long-distance migration patterns. They are known to exhibit local movements in search of food and suitable habitats.
After mating, the female nurse shark will often seek out a secluded area to give birth. The gestation period is around 5 to 6 months, and a litter can consist of 21 to 29 pups. The pups are born fully developed and independent.
